Ooh, such a long time since a post. Bad blogger!
I've been knitting...I finished two pairs of socks for Gina. I was helping her out since she hurt her hand. I know she likes them. I hope her mom, the recipient of the socks, likes them as well. I've got one more to do. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pics of them. Maybe Gina will take pics for us?
I started on the front of the Rebecca sweater. I'm on the V-neck shaping. Here's a pic of the front and a closeup of the cable:
I ordered some yarn to make a Clapotis for a coworker who is retiring. I ordered it from NoNoKitty Yarns and got a custom color made. Like it?
And the Clapotis so far:
I love the yarn. Go buy some from Danielle now!
I also, in my spare time (yeah, ok), made this cute little bear.
The instructions are in the latest issue of Interweave Knits. It took about an hour using Lorna's Laces sock yarn and size 1 needles.
Next up, a Mariah for a friend of mine. And then, I have no clue! Gimme a suggestion!

More FO's
This weekend is a lazy weekend. I've slept and knit. That's about it. And though it was a lazy weekend, it's been a productive weekend.
My Knitpicks socks are done.
Also the Fibertrends hat I started last week is done. Ignore the mess of my kitchen and the old pretzel container that is modelling the hat.
I've also started on the Rebecca sweater, and while I can take a pic of it, it's just boring stocking stitch right now. When I work on the front with the cables, you'll get pictures.
I've been interviewed by Stephy. Here are my answers.
Q. You said once that you knit a lot of socks. Do you use DPN's, or do you use circs? What is your preferred sock yarn?
I've done the 2 circs and I wasn't thrilled with doing them that way. I've also tried the magic loop, but I think I'm a moron and never got past the first couple of rows. So I do them on dpns and love doing them that way. No one messes with a woman wielding 5 pointy needles on the train! :)
Q. You said on your blog that you're working on felting a bag. Are you planning to felt by hand or machine?
As I live in an apartment that doesn't have a machine, I'm tempted to do it by hand. But I've tried felting by hand before and it didn't really work out. I may go down to the local laundromat and try it out there.
Q. You've mentioned being a mom several times. How many kids do you have, and what ages?
Just the one little guy. He's 4 1/2.
Q. What's your favorite of all the projects you've done?
http://cooknknit.blogspot.com/2004/12/nordic-mittens-done.html
Q. What project would you tell another knitter "Don't do it--it's not worth it"?
Let's see, I really haven't done anything that I wouldn't do again. If I had to choose one project, it would be the baby blanket I made with a gazillion (ok, maybe only 30) squares that needed to be sewn together. That wasn't fun, but I would definitely do it again, with maybe crocheting the squares together the next go round.

My poor blog has been feeling neglected. It feels that I don't love it anymore, especially that it's old at the age of 1. Please understand little blog, that I am knitting, but life has just been complicated. Work is well, forcing me to work, and homelife...well, we're in the process of looking to buy a house in NJ, so I don't have the time or energy. But I am knitting. And here is proof:
The bag, not yet felted, but when I get some time to go look for handles, then it will get felted. There's a cd for scale. One of my little guy's favorites.
And even though it was never an icon on the sidebar there, Branching Out, made from Knit Picks Andean silk. It's not blocked, nor are the ends weaved in. The second photo is the true color.
I think it will go to my little guy's preschool teacher when we take him out to go to Kindergarten in the fall. I think I will make a few more in the other teacher's favorite colors, since it was such a quick knit.
And I've started on a pair of socks, the pattern from Knitting on the Road, out of Knit Picks Sock Garden. What can I say? I went a little Knit Pick happy one day. Here's one of the pair:
I love the way the heel turned out, and the gusset decreases.
I got an RAK from Tabbytuxedo today. Look at the goodies she sent:
The photo of the bracelet didn't come out well, but she MADE that for me. I'm at a loss of words at how nice people are.
I've got to use what's in my stash, since I've got to use all extra money for the house for now. I've got an order in to Knit Picks for some yarn to make a friend Mariah, she's paying for the yarn, and a little something for myself for mother's day. I shouldn't have purchased the yarn, but I fell in love with the pattern and I had to have it. This is it, from Rebecca No. 29.

I know, no real post in awhile. I have pics to show, but haven't had the time to upload them. Been busy with lots of other non-knitting stuff. We're looking at houses in NJ. My head hurts, and there's lots of issues with it, but I will be back soon with knitting related stuff. I swear. Til then, a little blog game. I was tagged by Tabbytuxedo from the Coffeeshop. Here's what to do:
Pick 5 of the following and then complete the sentences. Then pass it on to 3 more of your blog friends! But no tag backs!
